Hi, I’m Nathaniel Johnson!
Welcome to Captured by Johnson!
I’m a U.S. Army Soldier with a passion for photography, exploring new places, and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
How It All Started
On December 25, 2025, my mom gave me my very first camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T7. At first, I started taking pictures simply because I thought it would be cool to capture moments with an actual digital camera. Little did I know, something that started out of curiosity would become something I genuinely enjoy.
As I began looking back at the pictures I’d taken, I realized that some of them turned out really nice. I started recognizing that I had a natural eye for photography, and that made me want to learn even more.
The more I learned about my camera, photography techniques, and photo editing, the more interested I became. I wasn’t doing much editing in the beginning, but I enjoyed the process of learning and seeing what I could create. Before I knew it, photography had become one of my favorite hobbies.
What Photography Means to Me
Photography is one of my favorite ways to express myself. Whether I’m capturing a beautiful landscape, spending time with the people that I love, or simply taking pictures of something that caught my eye; I enjoy the creativity that comes with every shot.
My faith is an important part of who I am, and photography gives me another way to appreciate God’s creation. I believe there’s beauty in the little things, and sometimes all it takes is looking at something from a different perspective.
I’m still learning, experimenting, and growing as a photographer, and that’s part of what makes this journey exciting. I’m not trying to make every picture perfect. I just simply want to capture moments that mean something to me and create memories worth looking back on.
Through Captured by Johnson, I’m sharing a little piece of my world, one photo at a time.
His Creation, My Perspective, Our Memories.
